Julie started her studio at Drumcroon Education Art Centre in Wigan after graduating from her Masters in Ceramics. This was an excellent training ground to learn new skills, working with various schools across the different Key Stages looking at contemporary art with children and creating work celebrating it. From here Julie moved her studio base to Higherford Mill and has worked with a number of schools across East Lancashire and beyond as an Artist in Residence. Julie has also worked with in adult education teaching ceramics at Bury Arts and Crafts Centre and also Nelson and Colne College. Whilst there she worked as a technician and also completed her post graduate certificate in teaching.
Julie is a founder member of Arteach, a group of artists who work together to promote each others practice as artists who work in schools. Further information can be found at www.arteach.co.uk
